Obviously fake Singapore Cancer Society flyer offers breast cancer health checks requiring women to be ‘fully naked’

Heads up — there’s a fake flyer offering extremely dubious-sounding health check-ups for women, and it’s circulating in (where else?) Yishun. Stamped with the logo of the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) — presumably to make it look more legit — the leaflet obvious scam reportedly advertises breast cancer health checks for women at different locations in the neighborhood over three days in April.

So how can you tell it’s fake, you ask? Well, for starters, whoever wrote it clearly has an atrocious grasp of the English language.

Let’s go through it line by line.

“Hello to all the Yishun Residents, our team will be conducting health checks in your neighbour. We will be checking on women only. Reason being is women tend to have higher risk of breast cancer.”

Apparently, the check-ups will be conducted ‘in your neighbour’. Sounds rather… intrusive.

“So when we check on women, on that particular day, our team will randomly visit each unit. All women are compulsory to be bra-less so when we check them, we will caress them to see any lump.”

Sure, it’ll be ‘random’. And of course, the caressing method has totally been proven to be 100 percent successful in checking for lumps. #fakenews

“We will be visiting on 3 days:
15/4/2014: Yishun St 71 Blk 717-730
22/04/2014: Yishun Ring Road Blk 342A-343A
29/04/2017: Yishun St 44 Blk 478A-479C”

Guess the team decided to take a three-year break in between check-ups? Or maybe somebody didn’t fact-check properly. #youhadonejob

“Note: While our team will be checking on women, they have to be fully naked for this health check. Our fees depend on the types of women. If the breast is lumpy, the fees will be higher. Fees: $50-$100.”

If the dreadfully written first few sentences didn’t turn you off already, you should at least be offended by the part where ladies have to be fully naked for the ‘health check’. What type of women does one have to be to incur bigger costs? Also, a lumpy breast = higher fees??

FYI, the SCS has since lodged a police report.
