Dry season forecasted for first half of February

Time to leave your brollies at home, folks. As the mood of Chinese New Year had been doused (literally) with both light drizzles and thundery showers in the first three days, Singaporeans can look forward to a much warmer climate for February.

Our friends over at Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) are expecting a drier season for the next couple of weeks, and while short-duration thunderstorms are still a possibility in between pockets of the fortnight, the overall forecast for rainfall is still below normal. Don’t go expecting dry heat to blanket the island though.

“The prevailing Northeast Monsoon season is forecast to enter its dry phase, which is characterised by drier weather and occasionally windy conditions,” wrote MSS in a statement.

Temperature-wise, it could range between really chill days at 23ºC to the standard peak of 33ºC. MSS is also expecting temperatures to soar to a maximum of 34ºC on some days, so remember to hydrate yourself. For everyone who’s been lamenting their laundry woes for the last couple weeks, go nuts this season.
