Double deaths: Man fell several storeys from condo block, woman found dead in bedroom

Over the weekend, two unnatural deaths occurred. The body of a 46-year-old man was discovered on a ledge above the ground floor of a block in Novena Suites along Moulmein Road, where he fell to his death. And in the 13th floor unit of the same condo block, the body of a 44-year-old woman was found in a bedroom, purportedly a few hours after the discovery of the first death.

The pair are reportedly a husband and wife duo — Wang Chan Foo and Ng Soo San — who have been separated for two years. Police were alerted to the incident around 6.55pm on Saturday (Oct 22). Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, Wang was standing on a balcony parapet when it responded, but he fell and landed on a ledge while the SCDF was deploying an inflatable life pack. Apparently, neighbours saw him on the balcony and attempted to talk him out of doing anything reckless, but to no avail. Then officers entered the flat, where it is believed they found Ng inside with stab wounds, reported The Straits Times.

The couple had two children, aged seven and 13, who were waiting in the condo’s premises when they were found by investigating officers.

The case is classified as one of unnatural deaths, and investigations are ongoing.

EDIT: In an earlier version of the article, we mistakenly placed a picture of neighbouring condo Soleil @ Sinaran as the header image. We’ve since updated the image with one of Novena Suites, where the deaths took place. We deeply apologise for the oversight.
