Basic Instinct: Cheeky cat wanders into lingerie store in Vivocity

So… a cat somehow found its way into a lingerie store? Pretty sure the internet hivemind can come up with better puns and witty retorts to this furry news than we can.

At 10am today, Cat Welfare Society Senior Outreach Manager Laura was notified of a peculiar case in Vivocity — a cat had somehow wandered into an unnamed lingerie store at the mega mall. Humane trapper Damy was deployed to the scene, where he found the little critter (dubbed Senzo by the staff) running around the store and “looking for a corner to hide in”. Sadly, it’s presumed that the cat was either abandoned or lost its way from nearby residential estates.

Thankfully, it was a simple rescue — the cat was quite “manja” (read: affectionate) and “not too skittish”. It also helped that the staff weren’t miffed at all — they were already taken with little Senzo by the time Damy got there. Cats, amirite?

#VoicesFromTheGround: “Our furry friends often get into the strangest of places, and as a mediator, I often hear many stories of cats finding their way into places they shouldn’t be – but I was stunned when Vivocity called me and told me they had found a cat… in the changing room… of a lingerie store… in the middle of a shopping centre!. . As I was handling another case, I immediately alerted Damy, a humane trapper, to help me out. Damy arrived at the store and learned that the staff had spotted the cat (now called Senzo) running through the store, looking for a corner to hide in. We believe that he was either abandoned at the outskirts of the shopping centre or he could have wandered off from nearby residential estates. . . It was a simple rescue because Senzo was quite ‘manja’ and not too skittish. It also helped that the staff were tickled and said that Senzo was a cheeky boy to go into a bra store! I am very grateful for their good-naturedness, and I would like to thank the facilities management of Vivocity for calling us instead of pest control – it may seem like a small decision, but it can sometimes be the most important one. . . Currently, Senzo is being fostered by another CWS volunteer. She actually handles merchandise, but she saw the story on my Facebook page and offered to help foster Senzo! Without our pool of volunteers and individual rescuers, the battle to foster or rehome abandoned cats can be very difficult. I would also like to say a big thank you to her for helping a fellow cat-lover out!” – Laura # #CWS #CatWelfareSociety #AdoptDontShop #SGCats #AnimalWelfare #CatsOfInstagram #LoveCats #Cats

Rest assured, cat lovers. Senzo is currently being taken care of by another CWS volunteer. Be happy within your new home and don’t be such a horndog, Senzo.
