Just think of it as exercise.
MRT passengers on the Downtown Line 2 planning to transfer to another train will need to tap out and in to enter the fare gates at the next leg of their journey. But they won’t be charged extra fare if they complete the transfer within 15 minutes.
Other than that tiny inconvenience, everything’s good for our commuting bros and sis in the South West, especially those travelling from Bukit Panjang to Bugis. Instead of the usual 50 minutes on board other lines, DTL2 can get you there in 30 minutes.
The DTL 2 officially opens on Dec 27 and runs from Bukit Panjang along Bukit Timah Road to Rochor, with 12 new stations. An open house is scheduled on Dec 5, 10am to 6pm.
