The day is (almost) here. Apple fans across the island, mark your calendars for May 27, when Apple’s first store in Singapore makes its debut. The Apple Orchard Road store at Knightsbridge Mall will fling open its doors on Saturday at 10am, according to the tech giant’s website, and opening hours will be from 10am to 10pm daily.

This news comes almost a year and a half after the Apple store plans were leaked in October 2015 — since then, Apple users have been waiting and wading through alleged delays (although the company maintains that it never released an opening date, thus any talk of delay was mere speculation).

There’ll be a bunch of events happening to celebrate the opening of the store, including a performance by homegrown singer Sezairi Sezali on the opening day from 5pm to 6.30pm. Then on May 28, local photographer Chia Aik Beng will host a street photography session from 11am to 12.30pm.

Also look forward to more educational sessions by local filmmakers, illustrators, developers, and entrepreneurs at the Apple store in the coming weeks and months after its launch.

Apple Orchard Road is at 270 Orchard Rd. Daily 10am-10pm.
