Anti-Pink Dot person Bryan Lim charged for threatening to “open fire” upon LGBT community

All his attempts to weasel out from his violent remark failed to free him from the long arm of the law — infamous sworn protector of nation Bryan Lim has been charged in court for encouraging violence against the LGBT community here.

Post-Pink Dot and pre-Orlando nightclub shooting, the 36-year-old made the unwise decision of writing on Facebook that he wanted to “open fire” on LGBT people because he wanted to see “these £@€$^*s die for their causes”. This was in response to a post on the We Are Against Pinkdot in Singapore Facebook page about foreign corporate funding found in Pink Dot.

Obviously, his comments were reported to the authorities, with at least three police police reports lodged against him. Quickly getting his name smeared all over the internet, Lim penned an apology (sort of) afterwards before deleting his Facebook account.

According to Channel NewsAsia, investigations are still ongoing against him, with his desktop, laptop and phone all seized as part of the probe. The judge has set bail at $10,000. All because he didn’t think about the fallout after making such a terrorising post.

If convicted for communicating an incitement to violence via the Internet, Lim could be jailed for up to five years and/or fined.
