The second alleged case of cat abuse has happened in the Marsiling estate, prompting fears of yet another animal killer on the loose in yet another northern neighbourhood.
Three days ago, Nur Idhawany went on Twitter to express her heartbreak over discovering her pet cat Casper dead at the foot of Block 217 along Marsiling Crescent.
another senseless act of violence, numerous cases in woodlands and unfortunately happened to my kitty. really hope justice is served. pic.twitter.com/Vi7YSfmbj8

Speaking to Channel NewsAsia, Irdhawany said that her cat was on its daily evening walk around the block, but didn’t return back home as it usually would at 8pm. It was her sisters who later found Casper’s body at the void deck, and her mother called the police to the scene.
The tabby cat pictured sitting beside the body was Casper’s mother, who stayed throughout before it was taken away. Heartbreaking stuff.
The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) is currently looking into the case — the second one they have on their hands regarding alleged cat abuse in that very same HDB block in Marsiling. Earlier this month, Muhd Nur Hakim also experienced the grief of having his pet become an alleged victim of abuse when he woke up to find it dead in a pool of blood on the footsteps of his house.
Sadly — just like Hakim — Irdhawhany had to fend off criticism by unsympathetic strangers who blamed her for the death of her pet cat.
