Eighty-seven people have been arrested for a multitude of offences during a six-day multi-agency operation in Geylang’s streets and hotels that concluded on Sunday (Mar 26). The suspects included 53 men and 34 women, aged between 17 and 65, and the operation was headed by the Bedok Division police with support lent by officers from the Singapore Customs, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority, and Health Sciences Authority.

Eight men and two women were found hawking contraband cigarettes and illegal sexual enhancement drugs — the goods seized were worth about $53,000 — while 32 women were arrested for vice-related offences committed in residential units and 42 men were arrested under the Common Gaming Houses Act.

Investigations against the suspects are ongoing.
