A police raid conducted in the Jurong Town Hall Road area ended in the arrests of six women and one man — all alleged members of a vice syndicate. The joint enforcement operation by the police and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority took place on Monday (Apr 17), reportedly at Genting Hotel Jurong.

The women were aged between 22 and 42, while the 49-year-old man was believed to be their pimp. The police also seized $6,000 in cash and 272 condoms from the suspects, as well as one notebook and a mobile phone.

The man will be charged on Friday for offences under the Women’s Charter, and may be jailed for up to five years and fined up to $10,000 if convicted. The women are under investigation for offences under the Immigration Act and Women’s Charter.
