52 Tales Exhibition

Check out 52 artworks (for Singapore’s 52nd year) in this collection, by the Band of Doodlers, based on popular and infamous Singapore stories.

Carnival of Wines & Spirits

Browse through more than 450 labels of wines, spirits and beers from across the globe and bring some of ’em home with discounts that go up to 50 percent. Also check out free workshops about gin, sake and more.

IGNITE! Music Festival

The annual music fest puts on its 10th edition featuring the likes of Falling Feathers, LEW, Jasmine Sokko, Sam Rui, Shigga Shay, Amateur Takes Control, Tiramisu and loads more.

Until Jul 29; 4.30pm-10pm at Republic Polytechnic Lawn. Free.

Open Stoves

Come hungry, ’cause there’ll be nine pairs of chef collabs cooking off-menu dishes such as crispy braised duck burger and coconut cream prawn croquette sandwich with laksa cheese. Besides noshing on good food, you can also chill out under the stars with beanbags and inflatable sofas, or try your hand at giant-sized versions of Jenga, Connect-Four and beer pong. Even if you don’t have a big appetite, you can always live vicariously through stage games like Beer Chug and Iron Stomach Eating Competition.

Piece of Peace

Travel the world in a day at this Lego exhibition starring mini replicas of UNESCO world heritage sites. The one-time-only showcase won’t return to our shores after it leaves, so this could be your only chance to catch Lego reconstructions of landmarks like the Taj Mahal, Great Wall of China, Sydney Opera House, Statue of Liberty and, of course, our own Botanic Gardens.

Ramen Revolution

Ramen fans, where you at? Make your way to Sentosa this weekend for $10 ramen bowls from 10 different eateries. There will also be speed eating contests and spicy ramen competitions to keep you entertained.

Supper Series Vol 3: Gina’s Vadai x Native

The one-night only event brings together a hawker and a bartender for a supper of Mediterranean-inspired vadai and specially concocted cocktails.

10pm-1am at Moosehead Kitchen – Bar. 

Voices of the Amazon

The dance musical combines ballet, contemporary dance and capoeira with a Brazilian score to take you into the heart of the Amazon rainforest.

Saturday, Jul 29

The 50 Cents Fest

Delve into an afternoon/evening of nostalgia at the Chinatown stretch, where Singapore’s ’80s street hawker scene will be recreated. There’ll be pretty affordable local dishes such as Teochew ah balling, kong bak pau and rickshaw noodles, as well as old school games, xinyao performances and plenty of photo ops.

The Great Singapore Summer Party

The one-night pop-up at the Ann Siang Hill gastrobar offers drinks like the High Noon and Pimm’s Cup for $15++ all night, as well as snacks like crispy corn, spiced nuts, and salt and pepper squid.

6pm-late at Oxwell & Co. 

Tropical Night

Join in the fiesta fun at Capella Singapore, where activities of the night include salsa dancing, a tequila masterclass and stalls serving up Cuban-inspired bites and barbecued meats. To start the night off, everyone will get a complimentary welcome drink.

Sunday, Jul 30

After Dawn: BBQ Block Party

Dressed in your Sunday best with nowhere to go? How ’bout you head to the Kallang riverside for daytime dancing, carnival games, leather workshops and an artist market featuring the likes of Maketh Project, Llama Laine, Petrichor and Puffnanny.

Noon-11pm at Camp Kilo Charcoal Club. Free.

International Friendship Day

Celebrate the day of friendship with Sunny Side Singapore and B&J’s by treating your best bud to a scoop of one-for-one ice cream.

All day, during store opening hours, at Ben & Jerry’s outlets at 313 @ Somerset, VivoCity and Dempsey. 

Pusakal: From the Streets of the Philippines

A series on urban art in cities around the world, this first volume is dedicated to the Philippines, and features the works of more than 20 Filipino artists. Hit up the launch party today from 5pm till 11pm, or pop by the gallery over the next couple weeks.
