Friday, Aug 18

Beerfest Asia

Yep, it’s that time of the year again. But this time, head over to Marina Bay Cruise Centre to sample more than 500 brews, check out hands-on beer workshops, groove to the tunes of live music, and try your hand at Singapore’s largest outdoor beer yoga sesh. Yes, beer yoga.

Cosentino: Anything is Possible

He may not be David Copperfield, but Cosentino comes pretty close with his array of jaw-dropping illusions, death-defying escapes, and reality-bending tricks backed by dazzling pyrotechnics.

Singapore Night Festival

This year’s 10th edition of the fest works a little different from previous years’. You can feast your eyes on the night light installations this and next weekend, but take note that performances will only take place from next Thursday to Saturday. Artworks to look out for this weekend include Convolutions by EZ3kiel and Tessellations of Time by LiteWerkz x 3M at the National Museum of Singapore, and Les Hommes Debout (The Standing Men) by AADN at Singapore Art Museum.

Saturday, Aug 19

Aliwal Arts Night Crawl

This year’s edition includes shadow puppet workshops, learning journeys at the Chinese Opera Institute, dance performances, gigs, and a night market with more than 25 indie designers hawking their indie wares.

5pm-11pm at Kampong Glam. Free.

Amberhill EP Launch

Local band Amberhill debuts its Songs From Summer EP with stage support from fellow homegrown acts Causeway Youth and Khai. Stop by for an evening of dreamy, ambient melodies.

7pm-9.30pm at Esplanade Annexe Studio. $18.

Burger Time!

Lepark’s first all-burger menu debut with 10 fuss-free burg choices starting from a pretty affordable $8. There’ll also be wallet-friendly booze accompanied by acoustic performances in the evening.

FestivalForGood 2017

Step into the world of social enterprises, which encompasses everything from health and travel to fashion and technology. At this meaningful festival that advocates for good causes, you’ll browse through a massive pop-up market featuring the likes of impact travel platform Actxplorer, coffee educators Bettr Barista Coffee Academy, and urban farmers Edible Garden City. If you’re keen on finding out more, sit in on panel discussions, check out experience capsules and hang around for live performances.

Latin Fiesta First Edition

Ready your bellies for a round of margaritas, as Mexican joint Piedra Negra hosts its first Street Fiesta in an attempt to transform Haji Lane into a party central. Look forward to a night of ’90s R&B, hip hop, reggae, tacos, lucky draw prizes and even a couple of free shots.

Sunday, Aug 20

Nat Geo Live: Celebrating The End of Food Waste

Author and National Geographic Emerging Explorer Tristram Stuart is a man on a mission to rid the world of food waste — follow him on his journey to make the Earth a better place to live in.
