Armenian Street Party 2018: Balik Kampong 2.0

Circus 1903: The Golden Age of Circus

Harken back to the Golden Age of circus, where contortionists and acrobats will have you on the edge of your seats, while massive elephants (lifelike puppet ones) take your breath away as they enter the ring.

Until Apr 29; various timings at Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands. $65-$185.

Fight Night at Bang Bang

Okay, so it’s not exactly a gritty fight night; instead, it’s a battle of the, er, furry mascots. Before Bang Bang can welcome a new member into its mascot family, the characters will have to fight it out — this time, it’s a beatboxing Cookie Monster and a street-dancing Ninja Turtle Michaelangelo going for each other’s throats to join the ranks of Elmo, Panda, Carebear, and Hello Kitty. If you’d like to be part of this strange shindig, hit up the nightclub and cast your vote.

10pm-late at Bang Bang. Free.

Nespresso Canopy Garden

Focusing on sustainability (and to celebrate Earth Day), this Nespresso pop-up space features a green canopy made of organic veggies and plants, intricate roses made from used coffee capsules, and a collab with two local artists highlighting artworks consisting of more used capsules.

Until Apr 30 at L1 North Court Atrium, VivoCity.

One Piece Pop Up Store

One Piece arrives in Singapore for the first time ever, with a pop-up store chock full of exclusive official merch just waiting for you to take ’em home.

10pm-late at Altimate. $40 for access to Altimate, $45 for all-access pass; both include two drinks.

Stuff from the regular retail range will also be sold for a 10 percent discount, and if you find a golden egg in your cupcakes (or a golden ticket in your shopping bag), you’ll get a special prize.

Noon-4pm at Oxwell & Co.

The More We Get Together: Singapore’s Playgrounds 1930-2030

Kicking it with our buddies at playgrounds made up the bulk of our childhood for most of us who grew up without smartphones. So if you’d like to get nostalgic, take a look back at the playgrounds of Singapore — from the iconic dragon structures of the ’70s to today’s modern ones — and relive those good old times. The exhibition also features original blueprints of the old school mosaic playgrounds and even allows you to design your own.

Until Sept 30; daily 10am-7pm at L1 Stamford Gallery, National Museum of Singapore. Free.

Sunday, Apr 22

There’ll also be a dog yoga session and competitions such as meatball eating, racing, and best-dressed pooch for your canines to participate in.
