WATCH: Japanese electro-pop outfit Wednesday Campanella’s splendid music video set in Little India

Here’s a little something to warm you up this cold Tuesday. For those who ever wondered — for some reason — what a fairy-like Japanese lady dancing eccentrically around Little India would look like, er, wonder no longer.

Meet Wednesday Campanella, a Japanese electro-pop trio fronted by eccentrically charismatic KOM_I (pronounced koh-mu-eye, duh), whose wonderfully quirky tunes have extended beyond the sphere of the J-Pop genre to bring ’em fame as a legitimately sophisticated indie act. It’s hard not to pay attention to them though, considering they were an absolute delight earlier this year at Laneway Festival Singapore 2017, with KOM_I rolling all over a dancing crowd in her trademark giant balloon.

Just like experimental pop princess Grimes before them, Wednesday Campanella took the opportunity of their visit in Singapore to record a music video, this time showcasing the unique splendor of Little India’s hustle and bustle. The video for the single Unico makes for a rather surreal yet charming watch as this dainty Japanese lady goes for an outlandish bop across the Little India district, interacting with its populace and just having a grand ol’ time in an oft-underrated neighborhood. Before ending it all with some proper mutton soup, of course.
