Stand-up comedy, street stunts, nostalgic games and more at this new 3-in-1 festival

A new festival is coming to town, and it consists of three festivals combined into one. Come March, the Singapore Festival of Fun makes its debut at Clarke Quay with the Nickelodeon Fiesta (Mar 11 & 12, 11am-7pm), the Clarke Quay StreetFest (Mar 14-19, 6pm-late) and the Magners International Comedy Festival Singapore (Mar 16-19, 8pm-late).

First off, the family-friendly Nickelodeon Fiesta. Transforming the riverside area into a carnival playground, this two-day event features a scavenger hunt around Clarke Quay, local childhood games with a Nickelodeon twist and meet-and-greet sessions with characters like SpongeBob SquarePants and the Ninja Turtles.

For the older crowd, check out the street festival for performances by the likes of Pepe the Clown and his slapstick schtick, as well as world champion unicyclist Jamey Mossengren wheeling around on his 12-foot high unicycle while juggling a sword, a torch and a club. If you’re a fan of America’s Got Talent, you may recognise The Kamikaze Fireflies, a duo act that blend circus and comedy in a dizzying 40-minute show.

Then there’s Bruce Airhead, a comedic performance by a man and his six-foot inflatable balloon, and escape artist Rob Roy Collins, who has made it out of straitjackets, handcuffs and chains as part of his stunts. Finally, roaming on the grounds is illusionist Ryan Shadow, a man who could quite possibly make you believe in magic again.

For a good dose of LOLs, get your tickets to the comedy fest, which features a line-up of 12 international stand-up comedians taking the stage at Maziga, Crazy Elephant, The Pump Room and more.

Singapore Festival of Fun is on from Mar 11-19 at Clarke Quay. Free entry for Nickelodeon Fiesta and Clarke Quay StreetFest; tickets start from $20 for Magners International Comedy Festival Singapore.
