Someone’s coming around.
Just wake us up when 2019 ends, ’cause Green Day will be performing a show in Singapore in March of next year. The upcoming gig will mark the Grammy Award-winning rock icons’ first performance in Singapore in 10 years, as well as the band’s first stop on their global tour that includes dates in Asia and Europe.
Known for hit songs like When I Come Around, Basket Case, and 21 Guns, the American outfit will perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, with more performances scheduled in Coconuts cities like Manila (March 14), Bangkok (March 11), and Hong Kong (March 20).
Composed of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, and founded in 1986, the band first achieved mainstream success in the mid-1990s with the release of their breakout album Dookie. While the early aughts signaled a decline in the band’s commercial success, their 2004 Grammy award-winning album American Idiot became a worldwide hit and spawned a musical of the same title, which made it to the stage on Broadway and the West End.
Oh, and in case you haven’t been following Green Day for a while, the rockers are set to release a new album titled Father of All… on Feb 7, 2020.
