By now, fans of horror flicks would know about Veronica, the Spanish movie loosely based on the true events from the 1991 Vallecas case, where a teenage girl mysteriously died after playing with an ouija board. Though it was released in August last year, it was only last month that it got worldwide attention when Veronica was released on Netflix — because it was said to be so frightening that viewers couldn’t even finish watching the entire thing.
Apparently, the scares are so fucked up that people just noped and turned the film off halfway through.
Well, we watched it (the whole thing), and the overwhelming hype is dreadfully overblown. Sure, it’s creepy at some parts and has an actually decent narrative, but “scariest film ever made”? Far from it.
However, that got Netflix Singapore thinking — what are some other horror flicks that folks here can’t even finish watching? Of course, it could also be that viewers just got bored of these films and decided to do something else.
