Multi-concept online retailer PickJunction sets up curated physical showroom for shoppers

Online shopping is all kinds of wonderful (and damaging to our credit card), but we still love the experience of trying things on before we buy them. Perhaps that’s why so many online retailers are setting up offline shops (like HipVan, for example) to entice buyers to touch and feel their goods before they make a purchase.

Multi-concept online platform PickJunction, which was established in 2015, is also going this route. Its new Experiential Centre features a curated collection of lifestyle and furnishing brands spread out across three storeys and 10,000 sq ft in the industrial-area Singapore Handicrafts Building. Sure, it may be a tad bit out of the way (the nearest MRT is Eunos), but this is where you get to be hands-on with your home shopping.

Each showroom highlights a different brand — names on the line-up include Excelsius, Bamboobee, ITALIC & BOLD, Stone for Gold, For the Common Goods and Mondays Off — and there’s a communal workshop area housing labels like AL et Clar and a vending machine stuffed with knick knacks like toothbrush sets and soap dishes.

Oh, and did we mention that the entire space offers free wifi? Just in case you chance upon something you love and have to buy immediately. Since the Experiential Centre doesn’t actually carry stock, you’ll have to shop the self-service way and checkout on the website.

PickJunction is at 72 Eunos Ave 7. Daily 11am-8pm.
