In a quirky tribute to the nation’s 52nd birthday, Singaporean photographer Jayden Tan shot a second instalment to his 2016 Char Bor (“woman” in Hokkien) photo series. While he went with locally-inspired, tongue-in-cheek versions of Girl With A Pearl Earring for last year’s portraits, this time, it’s all about retro tidbits.

Starring local musician Inch Chua, the collection of photographs feature her as different characters in various secondary school uniforms donning epic, edible headpieces. Everything from ice gem biscuits to biscuit piring wafers to Mamee Monster noodle snacks to Milo makes an appearance.

Anyone else hungry for old school snacks now?

Check out the series below.
