Singapore’s Reds fans don’t have much longer to wait for the English football club’s first retail store to open at the Bugis Junction shopping center next month — just in time for Christmas.
‘Tis (or T’will be) the season for stocking up on football swag from Liverpool FC have been poring over photos of the soon-to-open site that have been circulating online since the weekend, drawing excitement from die-hard fans. The store just announced via Instagram earlier this month that it was looking forward to the grand opening.
“It’s only the beginning. LFC’s 1st Official Store in Singapore. Coming December 2019,” the post read, without giving a specific date.
But that didn’t stop fans — who had been waiting a long time for this moment — from getting excited about the news, with many anticipating to get their hands on official merchandise such as football jerseys. It looks like Bangkok is the only other Southeast Asian city with an official LFC retail store.
“Bugis Junction is the 10th LFC Official Club Shop after Anfield L4 0TH, Williamson Square, Chester, Liverpool One, Birkenhead, Dublin, Belfast, Abu Dhabi & Bangkok. Kuala Lumpur (Ceased business operations w.e.f. March 2019),” wrote a Zulkiflee Marzuki on Facebook.
“It’s finally open[ing] in Singapore to all YNWA fans,” a Lawrence Leong wrote.
