Giant mechs battle it out at Ngee Ann City as part of massive Gundam exhibition

If you happen to walk past Ngee Ann City and find yourself being dwarfed by two six-metre tall giant mechs, stop cowering beside the fountain — the robot uprising hasn’t begun just yet.

The giant robot figures are just part of the officially opening of Gundam Docks at Singapore, one of the world’s largest  exhibition dedicated to the massively popular Japanese sci-fi franchise Gundam.

Among the various models and figurines placed on display is the exclusive red and white SG50 Gundam robot designed by the franchise’s original mechanical designer Kunio Okawara. He was present at the exhibition opening to sign autographs for fans who managed to snag the limited edition sets of SG50 Gundam kits, which were reportedly sold out in less than three hours.

Folks can head down to Basement 2 of Takashimaya Square to check out over 10 booths selling exclusive Gundam merchandises, and opens from 10am to 9.30pm daily till Jun 28. More details on the official website.
