Hypebeasts and sneakerheads across the island have reason to rejoice today — and not because of the confirmed release dates for the new Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2. Though we’re pretty sure they’re stoked for that too.
Nay, it’s because there’s a new fuccboi bastion in town. AW Lab, the sport-style chain part of the Bata Group (yes, that Bata), officially opened its first store in Singapore yesterday at Suntec City. Also the first AW Lab store in Asia Pacific, the premise spans 2,630 square feet filled with racks of streetwear and sneakers from multiple brands, including Adidas, Vans, Nike, and New Balance. More importantly, it’ll stock a range of exclusive collaborations and limited-edition sneaker models that should satiate the finest shoe connoisseurs around.
“Singapore has always offered its own style and sometimes the best way to explore a city is simply to walk the streets,” said AW Lab’s Asia head Giuseppe Nisi. “That’s what we’ve always envisioned for AW Lab — to let the people define their own style while keeping it playful and exciting.”
The Singapore outlet is part of the retailer’s network of over 200 stores in Europe, including flagship stores in Rome’s major shopping street Via Del Corso and Milan’s city center Via Torino.
In related (and probably cooler) news, Sole Superior — the country’s only legit premier sneaker and streetwear convention — will be back at Zouk on Nov 25.
