Singapore’s Restaurant Andre clinches 32nd spot on World’s 50 Best Restaurants list

Congratulations are in order for Restaurant Andre. The fine dining establishment on Bukit Pasoh Road recently took the 32nd spot on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, rising 14 places from 46th place last year. Helmed by Taiwan-born and French-trained chef-owner Andre Chiang, it’s also the only one in Singapore to make it to the prestigious list since 2013.

This has been a pretty amazing year for Chiang so far — his restaurant placed third on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list, and he’s just launched his first cookbook titled Octaphilosophy: The Eight Elements Of Restaurant Andre, which chronicles his creations over 365 days.

The sole other local restaurant to land on the top 100 list is Burnt Ends — co-owned by Chiang — at 70th place. Last year, Waku Ghin was 70th and Jaan took the 74th spot.
