Press pause on your diet, ’cause there’s a new dessert bar in town, and it’s the kind of candied wonderland that’ll give you a sugar high just looking at it. Cake Club, a weekend pop-up at Marina Square’s rooftop garden, brings to mind whimsical Willy Wonka vibes — from pretty pastel hues of the space to sweet confections that are as photo-worthy as they are tasty.

It’s essentially a gathering of some of Singapore’s trendiest cafes and bakeries, so they can showcase their best cupcakes, lava cakes, cheesecakes, rainbow cakes, galaxy cakes, and more under one roof.

This month, you’ll get to nibble on quirky creations by the likes of Bloomsbury Bakers, inthebrickyard, and Milk Moons, while August will see Boufé Boutique Cafe, Creme Maison, and Edith Patisserie going on the line-up. Just in case you haven’t hit your sugar limit for the day, there’s also The 1872 Clipper Tea Co and its tea brews, tea lattes, and tea puffs.

Even if you’re not quite a “cake person” (blasphemy!), you can look out for guest shifts by Non-Entrée Desserts (July 21-22), the people behind those mind-boggling sweets that look like savory treats, and Lickety Ice Cream & Waffles (Aug 4-5) for plates of pink waffles.

Those who find themselves inspired by all these fanciful treats can sign up for ticketed workshops ($49-$75) to hone your baking skills, with sessions such as cake pops design by Nanatang (July 29), Korean buttercream floral cupcakes by Yume Patisserie (Aug 11), Korean buttercream succulent cupcakes by Yume Patisserie (Aug 12), and cookie painting by Once Upon a Table (Aug 25-26).

Now you can have your cake and eat it, too.
