The well-known Singaporean love for food and Singaporean society’s kinda lukewarm affinity for art combine in one very delectable project known as O.P.E.N. Kitchens.

Part of the lead up to the Singapore International Arts Festival (SIFA), the initiative harnesses the power of food to bring people together — audiences are invited to drop by the kitchens of home cooks and sup on both the host’s stories and equally delectable dishes.

Right now it’s already into the second week of O.P.E.N. Kitchen, and from the looks of what transpired earlier, it looks really fun. Here’s what happened with diva Amy Tashiana when she welcomed guests to cook some good ol’ traditional kampung food.

No worries if you missed out on the past few rounds — there are more to come till the end of the month. Upcoming highlights include a session with TV host Anita Kapoor, who’ll take guests through the food she grew up with in Mumbai, and musical husband-and-wife duo Oniatta Effendi and Nizam Ismail, who will be preparing authentically traditional Indonesian chicken soto and avocado shakes.

More details available on the SIFA website.
