Crispy fried beancurd skins with flavors inspired by hotpot soup bases are now available in major supermarkets and convenience stores.

The snack launched by local brand Fupi Beancurd Skin in January is a modern rendition of the traditional side dish common in Chinese cuisine. In a first of its kind, these addictive snacks come in Sichuan Mala and Hotpot Tomato flavors.

Priced at S$4.90 each, they come in adorably designed resealable packages and are for sale in places like Fairprice supermarkets, 7-Eleven, or even online via Lazada and Shopee. The snacks were previously only sold at pop-up stores and online.

The Sichuan Mala peppercorn seasoning has just the right amount of spice and numbs your lips, but that won’t stop you from reaching out for more. The tomato based flavor is sweet and tangy.

These vegan-friendly crisps are also made of 100% beancurd and with no added preservatives, cholesterol and trans-fat.
