Lovers of laksa, take note. The local dish is getting a tribute in the form of six varieties at Goodwood Park Hotel. There’s the dry laksa option ($19) for those who aren’t really keen on soupy noodles — this version comes fried with prawns, beansprouts, and fish cake slices. Then there’s the fried rice rendition ($19), which replaces one carb for another and tosses in hunks of chicken, red chilli and crispy tau pok.
For something a little different, try the deep fried chicken cutlet laksa in claypot ($19) for a choice between thick yellow noodles or rice noodles doused in a generous dose of gravy with potato chunks. Alternatively, the seafood laksa pasta ($21) puts an Italian twist on the dish with linguine, prawns, squid, and scallops in a creamy concoction.
If you’re in the mood for a classic, the laksa Singapura ($19) is a flavorful bowl of homemade prawn stock, coconut milk, prawns, fish cake, shredded chicken and a hard-boiled egg. Top up a little more for laksa with crab meat ($21) swimming in a tasty broth.
A Love for Laksa is on from Apr 1-May 21 at Coffee Lounge, Goodwood Park Hotel.
