Chow down on grilled meat skewers by 3 local satay masters at Town Restaurant’s dinner buffet

Remember those days of nibbling on Satay Club’s skewers by The Esplanade in the ’70s to ’90s? Town Restaurant’s bringing back the nostalgia with a dinner buffet that guest stars three local satay masters from Haron Satay, Power Satay and Sri Geylang Sate.

The family-run Haron Satay, which hails from the East Coast Lagoon Food Village, is beloved for the smoky sweetness of its meat chunks; while Lau Pa Sat’s Power Satay is all about cuts of beef tripe and chicken thigh dipped in chunky peanut sauce. As for Sri Geylang Sate, which has a pushcart stall at Gardens By The Bay, its chicken, mutton and beef skewers have made many tourists and locals alike happy.

At prices that start from $56 per adult, the buffet’s rather pricey if you think about solely inhaling satay sticks. But besides the above mentioned, the array of grilled skewers include Japanese-style ones such as sous vide gyu tongue and wagyu beef kushiyaki by the Fullerton’s chefs. Beyond that, the spread also offers a carvery station, as well as a DIY chendol and ice kachang table.

After Jul 29, the satay buffet will continue sans the guest chefs.
