A security camera caught a customer who allegedly took PHP26,000 dropped by a food server in a restaurant in Pasig City.
The waitress Alyssa Ignacio said she was on the way to bring the money to the restaurant’s upstairs office when she was called to serve a table. She didn’t realize that the money fell from her back pocket as she was doing her job.
An unidentified man, who happened to be near Ignacio, saw the envelope but said nothing. As shown on the security footage, he stepped on the envelope and dragged it to the other side of the resto before picking it up.
He then joined his family, who was also dining in the room. Just before leaving, he borrowed his companion’s jacket to hide the money.
The man and his family were riding a Toyota Fortuner, but the CCTV footage didn’t the show the vehicle’s plate number.
Ignacio said she was distressed because she will have to pay the PHP26,000 out of her own pocket.
