Father of the year goes to this guy in full costume as Thanos with his daughter as little Gamora.

Marvel Philippines shared a video of Kino Kaoru walking alongside his daughter Shay Denorte at the AsiaPOP Comicon Manila (APCC) yesterday.

The video was first posted by Kaoru on the Facebook group The Replica Prop Forum where he said he built it mostly from scratch with the help of his wife. Thanos’ face was 3D printed.

“The infinity gauntlet is a Hasbro Marvel Legends replica,” he wrote in the post.

The cosplay was inspired by the latest Avengers film Avengers: Infinity War that includes the origin story of Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Gamora and shows how Thanos, her adoptive father, invaded her home planet Zen-Whoberi.

Minor spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn’t seen the film.

Thanos’ Black Order murdered half the planet’s population, including Gamora’s parents. Thanos, however, saves Gamora and takes her in as his adopted daughter. Gamora grows up to despise him for his unapologetic wrath of killing innocent lives.

Cosplaying dad Kaoru may have looked exactly like Thanos but it seems like he’s a much better father. Marvel Philippines captioned its video “parenting done right.”

Facebook user Enrico Santos pointed out how things ended up for Gamora: “[W]ell, we all knew what happened to that Father-Daughter bonding after Infinity War sooo…”

Thankfully, he did not include any spoilers in the comment.

Jhon Paul said that “Iron Man is just watching.”

Ysabelle Kleantha Reyes tagged a friend, urging him to look at little Gamora.

Hyacinth Colina tagged a friend saying: “I can see you as a parent like this Thanos.”

Aaron Karlo Dela Cruz shared a little too much: “Thanos looks like me when I have to poop but still hold[ing] everything together. The cold sweat, the goosebumps, the clenched anus…”
