Don’t listen to that old saying, folks. Dogs learn new tricks every day, as this viral video clearly illustrates.
An upload by Facebook user Franz Marjoe now making the rounds shows a dog hopping up on a motorcycle all by herself in front of a food stall near the parking lot of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay.
In the video, the driver gets on his motorcycle carrying a white puppy, which he sits in front of him with its paws on the steering column.
“Mia, get on!” he then calls out in Filipino to his other dog.
A brown female dog — who we’re going to assume is Mia — then appears, taking her own sweet time in preparing to ride her master’s bike. Mia finally jumps on the back of the motorcycle when she hears the engine start.
Her owner verbally instructs her to hold on to him, which she does at the end of the video.
Too cute.
The video has more than 2.4 million views and 48,000 shares as of this article’s posting.
Netizens were amazed by the dog’s ability to comprehend her master’s command. Netizens like … Facebook user Marina Mariano, who said in Filipino that the dog was amazing.
Others couldn’t help but notice how cute the dog was. One said Mia was “super cute.”
While dog videos are cute, we can’t help but point out that riding as passengers on motorcycles is flat out dangerous for animals.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the agency that regulates traffic policies in the metro, told Coconuts Manila through a Facebook message that it is illegal to transport animals via a motorcycle in Metro Manila.
Don’t worry though, we didn’t narc on our friend in the video. Cuteness has its privileges.
