Viral: Car runs over traffic enforcer, plows through traffic in Makati

As if this week hasn’t been crazy enough!

On Fri night, Nov 11, the driver of a yellow Kia ran over a traffic enforcer in Makati and plowed through traffic like it was nothing.

A certain Kitt Lapeña on Facebook said his quiet walk along Rockwell Drive, one of Makati’s more posh areas, was “interrupted by a weary sounding siren approaching from the stoplight at Lopez Drive” and he saw a small yellow car zooming past him, followed by Rockwell traffic enforcer on a motorcyle.

Lapeña caught the commotion along Kalayaan Avenue in Makati City on Fri, Nov 11 at around 6:00 p.m.

According to Lapeña’s account of the incident, the traffic enforcer caught up with the yellow car when it got stuck in traffic and “slapped” it.

The still unidentified lady driver then got out of the car to confront the enforcer, yelling, “How dare you hit my car! … May lisensya ka ba?!”

(“Do you have a license?”)

The woman continued to verbally assault the enforcer and his motorcyle and Lapeña thought that was the end of it. But later on, he saw the same car driving past him again in an apparent attempt to escape authorities.

Zooming in and out of Poblacion’s narrow streets, traffic eventually cornered the yellow car and soon about five enforcers on motorcycles caught up with her car along the congested Kalayaan Avenue.

Pandemonium ensued as shown in the footage above.

But, as Lapeña wrote, “Never underestimate a cornered animal.” .

Apparently, the driver tried to escape again! She squeezed through the narrow roads and manaed to hit other cars and run over motorcycles in an attempt to flee.

One of the enforcers yells to the crowd, “Sige, video-han mo. Sabog ata yang babae. Sinagasaan yung kasama ko!

(“Go ahead, take a video. I think that lady is high. She ran over my colleague!”)

As of posting, there have been no reported developments on the incident.
