Inappropriate on so many levels.

A village chairperson will face charges after he allegedly tried to kiss a band’s singer who was performing at a wake in Marcos, Ilocos Norte on Sunday.

According to singer Frances Lorenzo, she was singing when Barangay (Village) Escoda chairperson Wilfredo Limin suddenly approached her, put an arm over her shoulder, and allegedly tried to kiss her, ABS-CBN News reported.

The cellphone video obtained by ABS-CBN News shows Lorenzo stopping Limin. A man also swooped in to stop Limin from kissing the singer.

Lorenzo said in the same report that she was shocked by Limin’s approach which was why she took his arm off her shoulder immediately.

Meanwhile, the village official said that he simply admired the vocalist’s performance and only approached her to whisper in her ear a song request, the report states.

That still sounds inappropriate.

Lorenzo is determined to file an Act of Lasciviousness case against Limin.

Marcos Mayor Rofel Pambid said that the provincial government will probe Limin and have him explain the incident.

The village chairperson is also likely to face administrative charges and face a suspension or be removed from his position entirely if found guilty.
