VIDEO: Village chairperson shot dead, 4 residents hurt during dance contest in Cavite

This isn’t how the night was supposed to end.

A barangay (village) chairperson was shot dead last night while four residents of Barangay Yakal, Silang in Cavite were hurt during a dance contest.

The incident happened around 10pmRadyo Inquirer reported. The chairperson was identified as Naldie Secretario, 46, who was reportedly watching the dance competition in the barangay’s covered court when he was suddenly shot by 2 unidentified assailants.

Radyo Inquirer reported that Secretario was rushed to the Asia Medic Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Meanwhile, four residents were hurt after being hit by stray bullets, ABS-CBN News added.

One of the unidentified gunmen were reportedly watching the dance contest before opening fire, ABS-CBN News wrote. The report stated that witnesses saw the suspects leave the crime scene aboard a motorcycle.

A certain Boco Ojano shared a chilling video of the incident on Facebook yesterday. 

A group in the competition had just finished their routine when gunshots were suddenly fired. The scene quickly escalated as the audience panicked and ran.

Authorities are investigating the motive behind the killing.
