Time to bring out your umbrellas, folks. Summer has ended with the arrival of tropical depression Domeng.

The western section of Luzon and large parts of the Visayas region are expected to be deluged by heavy rains within the next three days as it grows in strength, with meteorologists saying that it might grow into a storm by Friday.

While flash floods may occur, it is unlikely that Domeng will make landfall.

Rappler reported that Domeng moves at maximum winds of 45 km/hour near its center with a gustiness of up to 60 km/hour. It was spotted yesterday at 725 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.

Students who wish to enjoy the bed weather will be delighted to know that some areas have suspended classes — well, at least for today.

All classes are canceled at all levels in Taytay and Cainta, Rizal. Meanwhile, Quezon City has canceled classes for pre-school and elementary students.

Sounds like a great opportunity to spend the entire day in bed.
