Stalled trains and long lines at Manila’s MRT are nothing new but the reason for the delay this morning was something we’ve never heard before.
Apparently, someone threw a diaper on the MRT-3 line around the Ayala-EDSA section.
According to a report in ABS-CBN News, the diaper “limited” the train’s operations at around 6:43am.

The passenger queue at the Quezon Avenue station backed up all the way to Mother Ignacia st.
But even without dirty diapers being thrown on power lines, the MRT-3, which serves about 500,000 passengers daily, experiences technical glitches and breakdowns up to a dozen times a week.
Transportation Undersecretary for railways Cesar Chavez told reporters in a text message that MRT operations were normal again by 7:43am.
