If you think life in prison is hard, then the things recovered from the latest raid at the New Bilibid Prison may have you wondering what sort of parties go on behind bars.
“Authorities discovered thousands of ‘sexual performance enhancement’ pills in the latest inspection at the Maximum Security Compound of the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
Aside from the sex-enhancers, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) also recovered more illegal drugs and improvised weapons hidden in secret compartments.
Despite the fact that this is the eighth “surprise inspection” conducted at the Bilibid, the contraband haul is still quite considerable.
BuCor Chief Director General Rainier Cruz III explained that they have to conduct raids repeatedly “because the inmates sometimes just pass the contraband from one building to another.”
Cruz admitted that they lack security personnel, so they are not always able to monitor inmates’ activities.
The report noted: “The Maximum Security Compound alone has about fifteen thousand inmates with only 35 to 40 guards to watch over them per shift.”
