SUV plows through NAIA crowd, 5 people injured

Five people including two foreigners were left injured after a sports utility vehicle (SUV) plowed through the departure area of NAIA terminal 3 on Tue night.

According to aiport police, the driver Agnes Barbosa made the mistake of stepping into the accelerator instead of the break while waiting for a relative.

The blue Ford Ranger went straight to a crowd of people, and it stopped only after hitting a railing.

“The victims were identified as arriving foreign passengers Ahmad Heba and Scott Massey, who also lost his cellphone during the commotion, Filipino passenger Edwin Rubei, well-wishers Greggy Cunayan and Troi Troani,” ABS-CBN News reports.

They were rushed to the Philippine General Hospital for treatment.

Responding airport police Jerome Adanza has arrested Barbosa. She will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting to damage to properties and injuries.
