The past few days have been tough on Filipinos because of the destruction brought by Typhoon Vamco. Still, one Cavite resident gave people a little respite from the tragedy when he posted photos of himself posing like a supermodel before a delivery man.

Meet John Carlo Ison, a former flight attendant who became a viral sensation when he dressed up in a spiffy suit and had a mini photoshoot last week, thanks to a delivery guy.

“I look weird every time the delivery man arrives. But I will not allow that today! After I received the text [message] that I had a delivery today, I prepared wholeheartedly!” Ison wrote in his post, which has been shared almost 39,000 times.

He also quoted American fashion designer Tom Ford and wrote, “Dressing well is a form of good manners.”

It’s customary for delivery men in the Philippines to ask online shoppers to pose for a photograph while holding their purchase. The photos serve as proof that they are working above board, yet somehow the practice has become a source of merriment for many Pinoys.

Ison told Coconuts Manila in an interview that he thought of doing the stunt after seeing someone else on Facebook pulling off the same thing. On that day, he received basketball shoes, which he ordered from Zalora.

“The delivery guy was shookt. But I asked his permission first if he could join me in the photo. He was game, so we did the photoshoot,” he said.

He admitted that he was “overwhelmed” when his photos became viral.

“I was pretty calm at first. But when one of my friends said that there were so many likes and shares [I became] happy. But I’m a little sad because I couldn’t reply to everyone,” he added.
