The Search is Over: Cayetano resurfaces at Valkyrie for ‘thanksgiving party’

After weeks of silence and “Where’s Alan?” memes, former senator and vice presidential candidate Alan Peter Cayetano finally shows his face in public — at Valkyrie, no less.

Usually the outspoken type, Cayetano has been uncharacteristically quiet the past few weeks after the clandestine and hurried burial of former president and dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes’ Cemetery) on Nov 18. His silence has earned him a new moniker: ‘Quietano’

Cayetano — together with Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar and other staunch supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte — were at premier party hub Valkyrie in Bonifacio Global City Taguig earlier this week for their thanksgiving party dubbed ‘Saludo sa Pagbabago’ (Salute to Change).

Former actress Ynez Veneracion posted photos of the party on her Facebook account.

Veneracion writes, “Thanks giving party [at] Valkyrie with Sen Allan (sic) Peter Cayetano, Martin Andanar, MoyMoy Palaboy, Marc Tupaz, Luke Mejares, Mocha (Uson), Jomari Yllana, Direk Njel De Mesa & Robin Padilla.”

According to Veneracion’s, Duterte was not at the thanksgiving party because he flew early to Lanao. She also thanked Cayetano “for being so nice.”

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Cayetano says there’s a reason behind his silence and he’s just “here, working hard.”

“I have my own ways of bringing up to the President what I think is right or wrong, but in the end, he will be the one to decide, because he is the President,” Cayetano explained.
