A 37-year-old domestic worker was found dead inside her employer’s home in Pasig City on Monday night.

GMA News’ Balitambayan identified the victim as Amelia Villacarlos Firmeza.

Her employer’s son, Lance Muñoz, who had just returned to the Philippines from living overseas, was the one who found her rotting corpse, the report added.

According to the Philippine National Police-Scene of the Crime Operatives (PNP-SOCO), Firmeza was wrapped in a bedsheet and has been dead for about two to three months. Her corpse had already darkened and dried up.

According to the Balitambayan report, the initial police investigation found that the skin of the victim’s cheeks had been peeled off and there were holes in different parts of her body and neck. It is still unknown if the wounds were caused by a gun or a knife.

The victim’s clothes, which had traces of blood, will also be reviewed as authorities suspect that she may also have been raped.

Firmeza has been working for her employer for 10 years, according to the report. A neighbor told GMA News’ 24 Oras that the victim was friendly and had posted regularly on her social media account.

The Pasig City Police have identified both Muñoz and his father Rene as persons of interest in connection with the crime. However, Rene denied that he had any hand in the grisly incident and said that he has lived in Cebu since April to manage his business.
