At around 3pm on Sun, Oct 18, five men barged into the home of Philippines Graphic employee in Greenview Subdivision, Pamplona 3, Las Piñas City.
“The victim said the robbers kicked, punched, and pistol-whipped him. Another one tried to shoot him, but the gun jammed. The suspects then hogtied him along with his daughter, wife, and sister-in-law, blindfolding them and gagging them with tape before taking off with PHP250,000 worth of valuables,” reports Christian Imperio in The Philippine Star.
Police later found out that “the robbers were really targeting the neighbor’s house but upon realizing that it would be hard to force their way in, the armed men decided to rob the Graphic employee’s house.”
In fact, the neighbor’s househelp “told police investigators that the robbers presented themselves as representatives of a telecommunications firm who were ordered to install a DSL connection.”
The victim was quoted as saying, “They took everything they could carry: mobile phones, jewelry, appliances, laptops, my gun, even my wife’s makeup, and my daughter’s snacks.”
The Las Piñas police is now on the case.
