If you need any more proof that life isn’t the same for all prison inmates, then this is it.
The 3rd Division of the Sandiganbayan has granted Atty. Gigi Reyes’ request that she be allowed to leave her detention cell at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig and go to the clinic of her dentist, Dr. Gary Brillo, at the Bonifacio Global City for a tooth extraction and dental implantation.
“Reyes will shoulder the expense for her short furlough. She was reminded that after surgery, she must immediately return to the Taguig City Jail’s female dormitory in Camp Bagong Diwa,” reports in The Philippine Star.
In case you didn’t know Reyes, by the way is Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile’s former chief of staff who is currently detained in connection with her alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam.
Anyway, on the matter of Reyes’ teeth, the Sandiganbayan said “the arrangements as to when she will be granted the short furlough will have to be made with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).”
Pulma said Reyes’ dentist and the BJMP’s own dentist were also directed to file a report within five days after the procedure is done.
