What an unlucky dude.

One policeman got hit by a drunk driver yesterday night right at the checkpoint he was manning.

ABS-CBN News identified the unfortunate cop as Jonathan Sacluti. The incident happened at a checkpoint in Quezon Ave., Quezon City.

Sacluti signaled to a fast-moving vehicle to slow down but ended up getting hurt when the vehicle, driven by an intoxicated person, hit him instead.

He told ABS-CBN: “I asked this motorcycle to stop first then I also asked him because he was approaching me.”

The driver tried to run away after the accident but other cops chased after him.

The good thing is, Sacluti’s got receipts — a CCTV installed near the checkpoint recorded the accident. It also managed to capture a video of his colleagues chasing after the erring driver.

Once caught, the driver was brought to a hospital where he tested positive to an alcohol test.

The driver will be charged with reckless imprudence and driving.
