UPDATE (Oct 14). The three senior superintendents who were ordered removed from their posts will remain where they are now. “National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo Jr. said that although he had already received the relief orders from the PNP headquarters, these have yet to be implemented because he was still waiting for the concurrence of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC),” reports Jaymee T. Gamil of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The report highlighted the fact that “based on COMELEC Resolution No. 9733 issued in July, no changes in the assignments of police personnel should be made between September 28 and November 12 in connection with the barangay elections on October 28.”
So, who’s getting screwed here?

(Oct 12) Because they underreported crime stats in their cities, police chiefs of Pasay, Mandaluyong, and Taguig get sacked.
Senior Superintendents Rodolfo Llorca of Pasay City, Florendo Quibuyen of Mandaluyong City, and Arthur Felix Asis of Taguig City—were ordered removed from their posts by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Alan Purisima.
The order, which took effect on October 8, came after it was discovered that Llorca, Quibuyen, and Asis had “underreported” as much as 60 percent of the total number of crimes in their respective areas from January to June this year.
“Llorca assumed his post on November 10, 2012 while Quibuyen and Asis took over their posts in January 2013,” notes Non Alquiran of The Philippine Star. Hmm, this makes us want to watch FPJ’s Pulis Patola.
