PNoy gets emotional about the end of his term

On Mon night, Mar 28, President Noynoy Aquino delivered a speech at the Liberal Party (LP) proclamation rally in Manila.

The President remarked, “I have less than three months in office and I cannot help but feel sometimes sad to bid farewell.”

He added, “In fact, I never tried to earn brownie points during my term. I never chased after photo opportunities left and right just to show I am working. I am content whenever you say I am doing a good job.”

“The President maintained that he would leave the country in a far better shape compared to the one he inherited in 2010, citing reduction in poverty, improved access to healthcare, and modern infrastructure. Aquino said it was fine with him if the next administration would take credit for the reform programs he initiated,” report Genalyn D. Kabiling and Madel Sabater-Namit in Manila Bulletin.

Aquino then pointed out that LP standard bearer Mar Roxas and his running mate, Rep. Leni Robredo, would be the best picks as the next President and Vice President of the country.

Aquino said, “I am confident that with Mar and Leni, I will leave the country in good hands. With Mar and Leni, I am sure they will not only continue but also expand and fight for the straight path.”
