Plastic, cellophane, wires, ropes, fishnets, and hardwood kill beached whale in Davao

What does it take to kill a whale? Trash, trash, trash, and even more trash.

A juvenile male sperm whale was found dead in a coastal area in Barangay Miranda, Davao early Sat morning.

According to experts, the whale ingested plastic materials and foreign objects, which caused the poor creature’s death, ABS-CBN News reports.

The 38.8-foot (11.8-meter) long whale was found by the locals. It was then autopsied by Darrel Blatchley of the D’Bone Collector Museum, a Davao-based organization for wildlife protection. The process took 28 grueling hours.

“Some call them monsters of the deep. The monster is the person who killed it by being lazy and tossing their trash in the ocean,” Blatchey wrote on his Facebook page.

Doesn’t this make you feel embarrassed as a human?
