You don’t need a plot of land to start planting greens, all you need is a box.
MNL GrowKits, an agricultural service start-up that aims to introduce agriculture to millennials, is selling boxes with tools to help them grow both edible and ornamental plants.
Some of the edibles are basil, tomato, cilantro, chives, wild arugula, lettuce and hot pepper, while the ornamentals are sunflower, zinnia and marigold.
What’s in a growth kit? A coconut pot, potting mix, packets of seeds, plant markers, an organic fertilizer and a manual, basically all that you need to get started!
The boxes cost from PHP150 up.
Expect more surprises since MNL GrowKits will soon launch more products and a movement for a greener Manila.
They’ll be coming up with kits for fruit-bearing trees and sprouts. They are also planning to come up with a smaller version of the kits, which seem ideal for office desks.
