Pinoys are the No. 1 pustiso-wearers in Asia

We rock fake teeth.

“A study done by global pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline claims that About 30% or 9 million Filipinos — aged 35 to 69 years old — are denture wearers, the highest incidence of denture wearers in Asia,” reports Romsanne Ortiguero on InterAksyon.com.

Well, if that’s the case, there’s no point denying that there’s something in it for GlaxoSmithKline, as it distributes a denture adhesive and denture cleaner called Polident.

Nevertheless, Polident teamed up with the Philippine Prosthodontic Society. They recently launced an awareness campaign which includes a giant installation showing dentures biting into a cob of corn.

“We are bringing the 30-foot giant corn installation around key areas in Manila for people to understand the need for proper denture care,” explained Isa Marfori, GSK Polident product manager.

Whether or not you’re already a proud “pustiso-wearer,” you might get a kick out of seeing the giant installation at Plaza Miranda in Quiapo from May 22 to May 24. It will then be transferred to the Tutuban Market from May 29 to 31.
