Offended by mistake: Uber driver cancels on passenger because of resto’s name

Facebook user Krissa M. Race shared a story that should serve as a reminder to all of us that we have to be more specific when we give instructions to people.

In Race’s case, it seems that the shortened instruction she gave to the Uber driver that she booked offended him.

You see, Race’s destination was a restaurant called Lazy Bastard in Makati City. However, when he asked her to give the specific location of her destination, she texted him, “Sa makati, lazy bastard (In makati, lazy bastard).”

The driver texted this response, “[Ma’am], tinatong ko lang po kayo. Hindi po ako bastard (Ma’am, I just asked you a question. I am not a bastard).”

Race shared a screenshot of her text exchange with the Uber driver on Wed, Jan 11. As of 4pm on Thu, Jan 12, it has been shared over 2,000 times.
